Strauss: Miyazaki san is missing today. What should we do? what can we really do under restrictions for commissioning runs? Science exposure should be strictly restricted, according to Miyazaki san. Imanishi: "science" observations will be charged, and will be deduced later. Akiyama: For FMOS, we did deep observations for measuring real limiting sensibility. We may be able to do the similar thing with HSC. Strauss: we will share the interesting image quality parameters among all HSC survey team, such as image size, depth, etc. I mean, we need to consider this kind of thing under wider groups including galaxy people, for example. Perhaps Not good to ask some specific science data. Furusawa: For data reduction point of view, I have no comments since software activity is a part of entire HSC project. Strauss: Any preferred specific interesting regions for AGN group? We may request it for other image quality check, for example. Nagao: Better to visit a field with QSOs with known spectroscopic information, like Cosmos. HSC test shots maybe important to test our techniques for AGN selection, AGN photo-z check, etc. Tanaka: Cosmos is not always an only option due to, for example, bad RA (season), depending on commissioning run dates. XXX: we will have no more specific requirement for verifying something for AGN. (it was not clear to me, sorry) 2: Discussion on software/calibration Furusawa: we always need help. Strauss: more request on variability information? what is the real difficulty within the pipeline for variable sources? Developing image subtraction techniques for variable source? Strauss: way of photometry for AGN with underlying extended galaxies? No experience with SDSS so far. With HSC, we should be able to do better job due to better imaging. XXX: some new paper papered very recently on SDSS for this stuff. 3: Combining external catalogs. How?: Morokuma: how about forced photometry issue with NIR and other bands? Seb: Management/arraignment etc. are issues. I mean, this is not just about technical difficulties. I have no good sense how we should proceed. Akiyama: for highest-z QSO search sub-group, what is your plan for analyses? How to add NIR photometry? Any particular plan in your mind? XXX (Japanese guy): Color selection is to find candidates. It can be made easily once we have a catalog. For real science, we do need spectroscopy. Kashik: For fare photometry, we want to work on the NIR data by ourselves so that we can control/understand any systematic, etc. 4: photo-z for AGN candidates: Our requirements and future development direction? Nagao: photo-z helps even with less accuracy. Much better information than just by saying what kind of drop-out they are. Especially at z>3 (need to be confirmd). Tanaka: Need template for the redshift range for the photo-z to work. Need more specific requirement for accuracy, etc. Nagao: xxx (YO missed, sorry) Akiyama: For clustering analyses, do not need very high redshift. For QSO-galaxy correlation, we need spectroscopy redshift. So requirement for z accuracy depends on types of science and range of redshift . Seb: z>3 (need confirmation), photo-z is useless without U or NIR. Tanaka: please keep informing us (photo-z WS) any requirements. Morokoma: do we really need photo-z for very high-z sources in addition to color dropout information? Nagao: for QQ auto-correlation, yes. Akiyama: It does help. dz=0.2 at z=4 is preferable for QQ auto correlation. Correlation signal is expected theoretically, and HSC data should be able to constrain it. Of course, PFS spec-z info is much better. Morokuma: what is the most important parameters for high-z QSO analyses? Strauss: outliers rate should be small for clustering signal. Morokuma: We need more quantitative information, e.g., on accuracy? Someone: as small as possible!
